A Challenging Year for the Gan Staff

This has been a challenging few weeks for the Gan community. Our staff has suffered losses of loved ones (Marsha's mother, Noa's mother, Zachary Prober's grand mother), sickness (Yolanda Lyle's daughter, Hope; Su Watson's husband; Mary Lynn) and the turmoil that goes with staff changes necessitated by absences. We are extremely fortunate to have a dedicated staff of professionals to fill in for each other. With SO many absences, staffing hasn't always been perfectly consistent, but we have been able to maintain a safe, positive learning environment for all.

As a community, we celebrate the wonderful (births recently of Celia Rosenberg and Max McGuire, for example). We share the joy of our children's accomplishments and triumphs every day. And we also have each other for the times that are not so wonderful.

Please allow me to express my gratitude to the community for its outpouring of love and understanding. Please also join me in thanking our amazing staff for pulling together during a most difficult time. They covered each others' breaks, pitched in to work extra hours, and generally showed good humor. They kept an upbeat atmosphere in the classrooms.

In this season of Thanksgiving, I'm grateful to be part of the Gan community.
