Gan HaYeled 2013 Summer Packet

Dear Parents,

Bruchim habim, welcome, to the upcoming 2013-14 Gan school year!  As we are every year, we are excited about changes and even more excited to be continuing the tradition of excellence that we have come to expect from the Gan. We are opening our full-day program and have hired a few new staff members. We hope you will join us at some of our summer get-togethers and look forward to seeing you at our fall opening events (see attached calendar).

*Enclosed in this packet are a “few” items which require your attention. Please note there will not be a hard-copy of this packet mailed this year. It is important that you read through this packet closely and explore all "hyper-linked" items (everything underlined) so that you do not miss any important information.*

Please put the calendar link on whichever devices you use most frequently. We have provided a printable copy for your reference, but any changes that occur will be reflected on the online calendar

If you have any outstanding medical forms, please remember that your child cannot start school until we have ALL forms in our files.

Forms for our popular "Lunch Bunch" program and the "Early Bird" option are also available for your convenience.  Please return forms to the Gan office as soon as possible so that we can begin to make appropriate staffing plans. Please also remember that children in our full day program SHOULD register for Early Bird if they will be arriving before 9 AM. Children who stay for our afternoon programs should bring a dairy or parve lunch and beverage and follow our kashrut and nut free policies.

Our annual summer picnic will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2013.  We look forward to getting together and having a good time with our incoming and returning Gan families.

This summer, Sarah, Becki, and I are working hard to prepare the Gan for the start of our school year.  Your child’s teacher will be contacting you sometime in late August.

The year ahead will be filled with new opportunities for learning, friends, and the excitement of growing. Thanks for coming along with us on this adventure – we’re looking forward to sharing the year with your family.

Gan Parents' Association

Summer Greetings

The GPA is here to help your family get the most out of your child’s preschool experience.  We do that in a number of ways, including sponsoring New Parent Socials, Tzedakah Projects, Children’s Concerts, and other exciting events that combine a love of children, passion for the Gan, and respect for Jewish culture.

The success of GPA events depends heavily on Gan parents.  Either by attending or volunteering at events, it is the parents who provide the energy and creativity to make these events spectacular!  Children make new friends outside the classroom, and parents learn (and chuckle) that we are not alone in this thing called “parenthood.” Perhaps best of all are the lifelong friendships between families that grow as a result of meeting at GPA events.

For a complete list of GPA events planned for the 2013-2014 academic year and more detailed information about the events below, visit our GPA website.

Please consider joining the GPA.  GPA Memberships help fund the Gan’s science program, sponsor free events like Snack in the Shack and Truck Day, subsidize admission to GPA events, and much, much more. Click here to find out a bit more about the GPA.  It’s easy, inexpensive, and we know you won’t be disappointed.

We look forward to meeting each and everyone one of you!
