To kick off the new school year, we are sharing an idea for breakfast: build-your-own-breakfast smoothie! Many of you may already make smoothies in the morning; the idea here is to get the kids involved and let them decide what fruit (and veggies) they want in the smoothie. Research shows that the more involved children are in what they eat, the more likely they are to eat it. This recipe is quick and easy for crazy mornings, breaks you out of the cereal rut, and ensures that your family starts the day off with a healthy serving (or two!) of fruit and vegetables. Just don’t be surprised if they ask for a watermelon spinach banana cocoa powder smoothie!
